Marc Zwillinger is the founder and owner of ZwillGen PLL, a 12-lawyer boutique firm that focuses almost exclusively on internet-related issues.   Marc has been regularly providing advice and counsel for more than 12 years on issues related to privacy, security, surveillance and gambling.  He also helps Internet Service Providers, application providers, cloud hosting companies, and fantasy and videogame clients comply with their compliance obligations pertaining to the discovery and disclosure of customer and subscriber information. Marc has been advising fantasy sports clients on how to operate legally-compliant games under UIGEA and state law since 2006. In 2013, Marc successfully represented FanDuel  by  prevailing in litigation against it and one of its players  under the Illinois Loss Recovery Act.  This was one of the first significant legal victories for daily fantasy sports. More recently, Marc made national headlines when it was revealed that he was the lawyer who represented Yahoo! in secret proceedings challenging the government ‘s authority to conduct surveillance under the Protect America Act, the precursor to the FISA Amendments Act.   He is believed to be the only private sector lawyer to ever argue in front of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court of Review. Prior to starting ZwillGen PLLC, Marc ran the Privacy and Security groups at two major national firms: Sonnenschein Nath and Rosenthal LLP and Kirkland & Ellis LLP.

Matthew Holt, originally from Nashua, New Hampshire, ventured to Las Vegas after obtaining a Sports Marketing degree from Morehead State University. Over the course of a decade, Matthew has conquered the sports industry by creating the most unique and popular injury gathering tools and eventually started his own company, The Oddsfather, where he was recognized for his talents and his services were requested by Cantor Gaming. Matthew has participated as a VIP speaker at the MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference for two years, created Cantor Gaming’s first consumer product in the fantasy sports industry and spearheads the company’s international sales. Currently, Matthew is the Vice President of Business Development for Cantor Gaming and Head of LVSC.

David Kim leads business development, marketing and product strategy for FantasyPros, an industry leading platform he co-founded in 2010. Started as a bootstrapped side project, FantasyPros has doubled in traffic every year and now receives over 6 million visits a month. Prior to launching FantasyPros, Mr. Kim was the VP of Online Marketing at where he led all online customer acquisition efforts from the site’s initial launch to its eventual sale to IAC/Expedia. Mr. Kim’s experience also includes product marketing at Visa International and seven years of consulting in the areas of search engine marketing, partnership development, and online strategy.

Kenny Mazursky has been helping companies acquire new customers online since the late 1990’s. He is the Founder and Principal of Down to Earth Marketing – an internet marketing company who has been specializing in customer acquisition.  Kenny has founded multiple start-ups and has helped companies of all sizes create and implement successful strategies that increase site traffic and conversion. Prior to starting Down to Earth Marketing, Kenny worked for and Ignite Sports Media (now SportsVision).

Jason Puckett is a Co-Founder & Vice President of Business Development for SocialKaty, Inc. SK is a Chicago-based Social Media agency that manages content strategies & execution for brands. SK combines social branding with content, advertising, Facebook applications, and organic SEO to enhance “findability” and increase organic user acquisition. While at SocialKaty, Jason has ideated and implemented social marketing campaigns for over 70 companies including: AAA, Trip Advisor, Sony, Jim Henson Company, Firestone & Entertainment Cruises. Jason’s nerdiest social campaign was for the launch of Jim Henson’s The Dark Crystal 2.

Seth Young, 29, is an internet entrepreneur and Brandeis University graduate with over a decade of experience in iGaming and online marketing. After starting his first internet business at the age of 13, Seth continued to launch and work on a number of gaming related startups before joining in late 2005 to serve as its Strategy Director. From 2005 to 2009, Seth managed’s transition from a pay-per-click traffic hub to one of the largest poker information websites on the internet. Upon his departure from the company in mid 2009, Seth worked as an independent consultant in the iGaming field until late 2012. In March 2013, Seth moved to Rochester, NY to join the Star Fantasy Leagues team where he currently manages back office operations.

1:30 P.M Emerging technology – Xbox One and Fantasy Sports.
Microsoft’s new console, the Xbox One, will offer completely new ways for fantasy sports players to interact with their leagues.  Microsoft’s David Jurenka has spearheaded the company’s development into fantasy sports.  He will provide a live demonstration the Xbox One’s evolutionary capabilities. Also, as a key part of Microsoft’s expansion into fantasy sports, the company recently inked a $400M deal with the NFL.  You’ll learn about how fantasy sports played a role in that agreement, and how it will allow Microsoft to offer unique content and gameplay to fantasy football players.

David Jurenka is the Vice President of Xbox Sports. In this role, David leads strategy and product development in creating interactive TV experiences and entertainment services. With more than 10 years working in media and technology, David is passionate about building next-generation interactive entertainment experiences that create more passionate and engaged sports fans on Xbox. David originally joined Xbox in 2001 and has served in a variety of leadership roles during the platform releases of Xbox, Xbox LIVE, Xbox 360, KINECT and the soon to be released Xbox One. Most recently David led the creation of ESPN, UFC, NBA League Pass, NHL Game Center and MLB.TV experiences on Xbox 360, and will continue to bring new Interactive TV opportunities, like the recently announced NFL partnership, to Xbox One.

4:15 P.M. Research Presentation-”The Wonder Years: Youth Sport Fandom and Fantasy Sport Participation”

One of the relatively unstudied area of fantasy sport participation involves the increasing number of youth players.  Understanding why these teens start and continue participation in fantasy leagues is critical, as habits (and selected league formats) are very hard to deviate from.  This study surveyed youth between the ages of 12-17, querying their motivations for play and overall media consumption habits surrounding their fantasy teams.

Andrew C. Billings is the co-author of The Fantasy Sport Industry: Games within Games (Routledge, 2014) as well as the inaugural Director of the University of Alabama Program in Sports Communication and Ronald Reagan Chair of Broadcasting at the University of Alabama.  His research interests lie in the intersection of sport, mass media, and consumption habits. He is the author/editor of eight other books, including Olympic Media: Inside the Biggest Show on Television (Routledge, 2008) and his writings have been translated into five languages.  Additionally, he is also the author of over 90 refereed journal articles and book chapters in outlets such as Journal of Communication, Mass Communication & Society, and Journal of Broadcasting & Electronic Media.

Brody J. Ruihley is an Assistant Professor of Sport Administration at the University of Cincinnati and co-author of The Fantasy Sport Industry: Games within Games (Routledge, 2014). His research interests revolve around fantasy sport motivation and consumption. In addition to the fantasy sport text, he is an author of eight peer-reviewed publications and two book chapters focusing on fantasy sport.
